LoL Free Champ Rotation Week 22

Corki The Daring Bombardier is a decent AD Carry
Corki got buffed a few months ago and has since been a new mainstay in the bottom lane, very aggressive and strong late game Corki is firmly cemented at the moment – however it seems the newer players aren’t picking him up as readily as the top pros as there is a very high disparity between games Corki is in and ELO. I’ve been playing hyper aggressive bottom lanes lately with characters such as Leona as the support and Corki synergizes so well with Leona it is fantastic – both of them able to suddenly close the gap on their laning opponents.

Nunu The Yeti Rider is an average jungler and a niche support.
Nunu is suddenly thrust back into the limelight partnered with champions such as Sivir to deliver an massive increase in damage through his blood boil – and the amount of ultimates we’ve seen perfectly channeled in secret from a bush is disgusting! Nunu sits on the path of poke rather than a sustain or bursty champion – but with his poke, attack speed increase and slow he allows champions such as Sivir tear through their opponents very quickly and not let them get away. I feel he is quite a lackluster jungler though people still seem to be trying. In top lane I’ve seen him counter a few people quite well however, but not consistantly enough to recommend him for a matchup.

Rammus The Armordillo is a great jungler.
Rammus was constantly banned at my elo and I never really knew why – sure he gets around realy fast but he doesn’t really output much damage. His passive allows him to stack armour and still be effective with damage but the damage. Sure he is a great jungler but not a 100% ban which he was for quite a while. Lately the bans have been disappearing – and he hasn’t been appearing in games. With champions such as Mundo and Shyvana taking over the jungle – Rammus really won’t survive in this meta. Which is a shame I have a pretty sick skin for him!

Ryze The Rogue Mage is a great mid or top.
Ryze is an amazing champion at the highest level of play at the moment, not really countered by anyone (though Lulu does do pretty well against Ryze!) – and due to how he builds he is allowed to build very tanky, usually picking up Banshee Veil and Frozen Heart very early on – his damage and defensive increases massively from the pickups which allows Ryze is build exactly what he wants to rocket ahead. And as such – he is being nerfed quite heavily on this lately patch to try to help this – I’d recommend playing him as he is amazing in mid lane and the nerf shouldn’t effect him TOO much – just bring him down to a reasonable level.

Shaco The Demon Jester is a good jungler.
Shaco is pretty much permenantly banned at my elo – he is however a massively enjoyable champion to play – able to do so much and his stealth and wall hop allow him to really abuse the jungle movements. Shaco snowballs hard but can be very hit or miss – you’re either dominating or you’re feeding – there really isn’t a middle ground for Shaco I’ve noticed. That said – I highly recommend you go dick around with him in normals solo queue because boy is he a very fun champion to play!

Sion The Undead Champion is a good solo AD and AP Carrys.
Sion is very versitile so he is an acceptable pick early on – he could go up top AP or AD, or in the middle as AP – I’ve even seen support Sions. (Not that I’d recommend it!) Trying to trade against an AD Sion up top is a quick way to die, whereas the AP Sion is also amazing at clearing waves super fast and bursting down champions.

Soraka The Starchild is a great support.
Soraka is the definition of sustain in that bottom lane, on the surface theres obviously the mana and health gain, but something that the low elo or people new to the game haven’t discovered or realized the importance of yet – is the +armour from her heal. She provides so much not just in lane but to the entire team – especially due to her ultimate which can help save people anywhere on the map. One of the few global ultimates that still exist in the game.

Maokai The Twisted Treant is a good Jungler.
Maokai is a hyper ganky jungler – he is immensely fun to play in the jungle – aside from the fact that he’s a tree! His entire kit revolves around stunning, slowing or jumping around making him amazing for scoring kills out of the jungle. He gets tanky as hell due to just being about to build tanky as well – similar to Ryze he’ll build purely defensive items.

Graves The Outlaw is a Great AD Carry
Graves is and has been since he was released one of the best AD Carrys in the game – his burst is astonishing and catches people out all the time thinking its not near what it is. This seems to be mostly because of the buckshot spread. You tend to not get hit by more than 1 of the spread – but when you suddenly start taking all of the AoE you’re suddenly getting spiked down hard. Graves is another good champion I love to put with Leona for hyper aggressive lanes – he also has a gap closer which really helps.

Ahri The Nine-Tailed Fox is a Top Tier Solo AP Mid.
Ahri is one of the main 4-5 champions I think you must learn to be effective in middle lane. Ahri does so well in mid at the moment – she even does decently against Galio – whom counters a load of mid lane. When you hit level 6 – you’ll almost get a free kill in middle. Ahri’s movement and manueverability are some of her main strong points (along with the ridiculous sustain you get from the passive) – I think they may nerf bat her in the future perhaps – but definitely a champion you should learn to play. Shes fun too.
Best Together From Free:
For you new players who only really have access to the free champions – most people don’t have the knowledge/skill to do a proper lineup like you’ll see in ranked games, but the following most appropriately fill the positions together – in my mind atleast – from the free champs.
Solo Top: Sion
Solo Mid: Ahri or Ryze or Sion
Jungle: Rammus or Shaco or Maokai
AD Bottom: Graves or Corki
Support: Soraka or Nunu
